Water Pik not working – just grinding and sputtering! Grrr ... so this is the kind of day it’ll be! Just when I plan on my opening blog and want to focus on that. Why the necessity of a Water Pik? Well, I have so many implants and bridges that flossing is not possible. More about that later. That comes under “Losing It”.

Why a blog? I like to write, and more than that, I love to give my opinion. But the real truth is I’m having a hard time with retirement and need to fill the days, so here it goes………. Flying without a net.

And why the title “Over the Hill and Under the Radar”? Having just turned 90, I’m definitely over the hill and it seems that I’m getting more and more invisible. Science tells us we lose height as we age (why not weight?!). Could this be a reason for being cut in front of with shopping carts - it happens.

I’m finding the aging process just as crappy as retirement and plan on being truthful about my experience. Can you handle the truth? The question asked by Jack Nicholson in “A Few Good Men”. I’m baffled that the “golden years” are called that. I think that leaden is a much truer description. My friends fear that the suicide rate for seniors will soar when I write about the aging process. This is not to say it’s all bad. The good part is the lows aren’t very low and conversely the highs aren’t very high, not good. I guess if you like flat, this is the age for you! Contrasts are for me – I love baking in the sun on the beach and then plunging into the ocean. Those days are over, for a number of reasons.

I think I have written the 300 words which is the minimum recommended for a blog. My plan is to write once a week, which is the minimum also recommended.

See you next week.
