A Week from Hell
A Week from Hell
This is Henry again – apparently my person is exhausted from her vacation, so again I need to pick up the slack. What a week! First my room was taken over by some people, I think that they are related to us. The guy is her son and the chick is his wife. Does that mean that I’m the half brother? Oh well, it doesn’t really matter – I can’t stand them! Then the dreaded appearance of the suitcase. And she’s gone and so is her comfy lap.! My dysfunctional kitten hood causes me to have abandonment issues and right now I’m having a hard time which doesn’t improve my personality.
The first day I paced and whined incessantly – perfect! They took this as a need for food and I ate until I was satisfied which was a lot of Fancy Feast because I’m known to be insatiable. They’re a little off with their timing – later schedule. Makes sense because they’re younger than my older than dirt person.
On the second day, they attempted to comb me – I lasted a couple of minutes just to get their hopes up.– I have no intention of enduring their clumsy efforts. They don’t even talk to me. A little “good boy” might help to warm the relationship. Then there’s the sleeping arrangements. I don’t like sleeping alone and I think they would take my snuggling in with them as actually liking them, so I take to my person’s bed and snuggle with lifeless old shirt she left there. Helps a little, but just makes me miss her more.
It occurred to me that this might be the new reality and it would behoove me to try to act like a normal cat. Maybe a faint purr and leg rubbing to start. They were ecstatic. I even joined them on the patio. Actually I was growing quite fond of the woman – we’ll see about the guy. They left and when they came back they were with my person. OMG – I didn’t even try to act mad, I was too happy! I just don’t understand why my person goes anywhere. We have a lovely place and a satisfying life – she works and I eat and sleep and play and some lolling too. My person will write the next blog. Try to not be bored!
Kind regards.
Henry
