When it Rains it Pours

Hi everyone this is Henry here. I’ve had to step up to the plate, not the first time, I might add. So I’ll be writing the post this week. My Person, OTD (older than dirt), is simply wrung out. We’ve had more than a little drama here.

Construction work has been going on in the inside garden, which OTD calls the atrium. This wasn’t a walk in the park for me – I took to the closet where I’ve been spending a lot of time. She on the other hand didn’t have this luxury? And had to keep the wheels turning. The process involved damaging the roof, the repair of which was not considered in the contractor’s bid. They didn’t know it was foam! I think I could even recognize that!

Long story short, the contractors from hell failed to properly water proof the roof before the rains came God forbid they arrange a permanent repair. And…... it rained as predicted. But it wasn’t predicted to rain inside the house.

I actually experienced empathy (highly unusual in cats). OTD was hysterically calling all the troops – management, contractor, roofer and I think I heard her say, “god help us!” And…. trying to sop up the water and isolate it. All this before her coffee and in her robe. Not a pretty sight. Help came and heaters and blowers and dehumidifiers were going full blast and at high decibels all over the house. Almost intolerable! But to OTC’s credit she refused to go to a hotel and leave me here alone.

Then to make it worse, when she went out to get a bite to eat, the dreaded “check engine” light went on! Car problems are always good news for me because it means she won’t be going out, Anyway, the car got repaired and we hope by tomorrow we can use the TV room again. I never thought I would say this, however I find that I’m actually missing watching the Warriors’ games.

Geez, writing the post is quite exhausting. I have developed a little respect for my person. Note – I said “a little”. She’ll be taking over next week. Try not to miss me too much!
